Act On Ideas Without Fear or Hesitation

“… prove their truth by acting upon them without fear or hesitation.” — Preface to The Science of Getting Rich

Acting on them without fear or hesitation.

Acting.

Taking Action.

Right in the preface to “The Science of Getting Rich”, Wallace Wattles tells us that this isn’t going to be an exercise in “Ask, Believe, Receive.”

If we want to be rich, we’ll have to take action.

While asking is an action, and believing is an action, and receiving is an action – I know that Mr. Wattles is talking about more (and not just because I’ve read the rest of the book.)

The asking and believing have to do with the ideas themselves.

The receiving is the final result.

Acting without fear and hesitation is what we do out here in the material world.

It’s not my intention to slam the Secret – I’ll point out that one of it’s teachers, Dr. Joe Vitale, said this:

“The Universe likes speed. Don’t delay. Don’t second guess. Don’t doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, ACT. That’s your job. That’s all you have to do.”

Don’t delay (act without hesitation).

Don’t doubt (act without fear).

ACT.

    Lyman,

Delay and doubt are really the primary obstacles to getting rich, aren’t they?

    Mike! :)

Just so you know, you’ve been my virtual companion on my drives to and from work over the last few days, through your audio version of the book.

And you are absolutely right… and I know from past experience that doubt and delay basically come down to one thing – the “F” word.

    Fear.

  3. Mike DeWitt Says:

    Lyman,

It’s my pleasure to accompany you, and it makes me happy to know people are using the material. I know I do!

You nailed it regarding the ‘F’ word.

    Mike

Incidentally, I have been thinking about starting a mastermind group and applying the principles of the book. Would you be interested?

  4. Lyman Reed Says:

    Mike,

I think that a Mastermind group specifically devoted to applying these principles would be great! Taking it out of the theoretical and into our daily lives is the goal… I’d be very interested. :)

  5. goalgirl Says:

What are some of the books that he mentions in the preface?

  6. Lyman Reed Says:

@goalgirl – From the preface: “The reader who would dig to the philosophical foundations is advised to read Hegel and Emerson for himself.”

I personally don’t know much about Hegel, but you can access most of Emerson’s works on rwe.org
