An Introduction

This book is pragmatical, not philosophical; a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward. It is for those who have, so far, found neither the time, the means, nor the opportunity to go deeply into the study of metaphysics, but who want results and who are willing to take the conclusions of science as a basis for action, without going into all the processes by which those conclusions were reached.

So opens Wallace Wattles’ instruction book “The Science of Getting Rich.”

I first discovered The Science of Getting Rich quite a few years ago… it was probably about 2000 or 2001. I remember getting excited by it’s promise – an exact method for getting rich.

But it’s promise came with a price – a person had to live the principles it contained.

I didn’t, at least not consistently – so I didn’t reap the rewards consistently.

But when I did practice the principles contained in the book, I would see results. The more I practiced, the better the results. Dropping the practices, going off in a hundred different directions with competing philosophies of the moment, is what kept me poor.

This study is an attempt to get back on track, a tool to help me stay focused on living in the Certain Way that Mr. Wattles describes.

Thanks for joining me on this journey. :)
