Study This Book…

From Chapter 16, Some Cautions and Concluding Observations:

Study this book. Make it your constant companion until you have mastered all the ideas contained in it. While you are getting firmly established in this faith, you will do well to give up most recreations and pleasure; and to stay away from places where ideas conflicting with these are advanced in lectures or sermons. Do not read pessimistic or conflicting literature, or get into arguments upon the matter. Do very little reading, outside of the writers mentioned in the Preface. Spend most of your leisure time in contemplating your vision, and in cultivating gratitude, and in reading this book. It contains all you need to know of the science of getting rich; and you will find all the essentials summed up in the following chapter.

One of the problems many people (including me!) have is with focus. We go from this book to that book, from this teacher to that teacher, from this philosophy to that philosophy, and never really learn to apply anything to our lives.

The purpose of this blog is completely selfish. It’s meant to force me to have some sort of accountability in my own study of The Science of Getting Rich.

I love to read. I love to read books on spirituality, personal development, inspiration, motivation… I always have.

I just started reading another book, as a matter of fact – Energy Harmonics by Aaron Potts (as well as participating in an e-coaching program surrounding it at Personal Development Partners). It’s teachings are very in line with The Science of Getting Rich.

But no matter what else I read, The Science of Getting Rich will remain my “constant companion” until I get rich.

I used to listen to an audio cd I ripped to ipod every day as I drove in my car. I was introduced to “The Science of Getting Rich” by a friend who’s father recommended it. His father has been very successful and has a vast library on developmental books, but says this one book is better than all of them and he reads it daily like a bible.

I need to get back on track reading this book regularly. I’m board with you…thanks for the blog.

Science of Getting Rich has some of my favorite teachers such as Michael Beckwtih and Bob Proctor, but I have not tried the Science of Getting Rich program. However, I did hear that Michael Beckwith is involved with a new mlm called HUB that offers personal development training and eduation programs and donates 40% of the money to humanitarian purposes.

I also have a book analysis of the Science of Getting Rich. It’s a nice guide to wealth. Basic lessons that stuck to me:

    1. Think Rich
    2. Act with Faith and Purpose
    3. Make the most of every day
    4. Be more than you are
    5. Leave an impression of wealth.

I listen to the audiobook every day and I manage to still learn something every now and then.

@Sterling – I’m back on board with myself as well! :) Sorry about the long delay in responding to your comment (wow, it’s been months!) This blog got neglected while I worked out my own Clear Mental Image, but it’s back… I hope you’ll consider coming back.

@Matt – To tell the truth, I don’t know much about the program offered by Beckwith and Proctor, so I can’t offer much of an opinion of it. Bob Proctor does have some awesome material out there, and I know of Michael Beckwith from “The Secret”, but that is the extent of my knowledge. But I’m all for donating to humanitarian purposes, as long as it is also teaching people to fish, not just feeding them once.

@Ely – Great summary! I seem to pick up new things each time I read or listen to the book myself.
